Another person on Zidane’s side

It’s good to see someone from the media sticking up for Zidane. This article, I thought, was brilliant.

To illustrate just how innocent Materazzi can be, here is a collection of some of his finer moments.

Dr Z is one of the few sportswriters who I consider to be required reading during NFL season, along with Bill Simmons for ESPN.com and Aaron Schatz for FootballOutsiders.com. Peter King and Gregg Easterbrook come close, but too often just stick to their tried and true format and change the details to suit the week.

I think Australia should give Zidane some sort of national honour for showing the Italian team just what we think of them and their cynical tactics. Oh, yes.
