Video of the week

As much as I hate to admire anything that a player for Liverpool does, this video is incredible. What is even more amazing is that Xabi Alonso has scored a goal from even further out than this. Stay tuned for that video next week.

The thing that I find most interesting about it is that he was clearly teeing it up on the previous touch, but had to adjust because the referee was blocking his path. Also, I’m waiting to see a video of Crouch’s spiderman effort.

That’s a good pickup regarding the referee, Jim. I hadn’t noticed that before and actually thought he adjusted because of a defender.
I’ll have to search for the Crouch video.

I presume you’re aware of the Beckham video being part of the extras in Fifa 06? Some cracking goals in that top ten they’ve got.

Yeah I’m aware of that, I like watching it every now and then. Some spectacular goals.

The great thing about that goal was that Alonso actually had to beat the keeper to score it. The previous goal (against Luton in last years FA Cup) the Keeper was no where to be seen.

I will now be quiet on the Liverpool comments. I am still depressed after Sunday night. Stupid european time difference. I sat up to watch it, got bugger all sleep and to compund it Man Utd thoroughly outplayed Liverpool.

Oh well, FIFA 07 is out next week. Time for some righteous retribution with the Xbox360 controller.

Speaking of, when are you getting your Xbox?
