Yes I do.

What a finish to the first women’s golf major of the year! Karrie Webb holing out on her 3rd shot from about 110 metres on the par 5 final hole, to give her a clubhouse lead of 9 under par. It was the second time in this tournament that she holed out from the fairway. She had a nervous wait in the clubhouse while Michelle Wie, Natalie Gulbis, and Lorena Ochoa finished out their rounds. Wie showed her youth and inexperience by chipping onto the 18th green, hoping for an eagle, instead of putting and getting it close to the hole for an easy birdie. Unfortunately, she chipped it 10 feet past the hole and missed the birdie putt. This left her one shot out of a potential playoff. Gulbis also made par on the hole leaving her one shot out of a playoff. Ochoa played a beautiful second shot, reaching the green in two and leaving her a putt of about 6 feet to force a playoff with Webb. She calmly made the putt and forced the playoff.

The playoff only lasted one hole with both players hitting the second shots beyond the green. Webb left herself with a far more difficult chip shot but hit it within 2 metres, while Ochoa putted 4 metres past the hole and missed the following putt. Webb made her putt to win her seventh major title, her first since 2002.

It was good to see Karrie Webb win again after such a long time between drinks. She was the last person to really challenge Annika Sörenstam for the number one ranking in Golf. Hopefully she will be able to return to her old form and challenge the likes of Sorenstam, Wie, Gulbis, and Paula Creamer in future tournaments. In any case, this was a nice way for Karrie Webb to prove that she can still compete with the best after recently being inducted in to the World Golf Hall of Fame.
