Who’s to blame now Dre Bly?

Thursday, November 23rd, 2006

There was at least one person in Detroit who still loves Joey

Joey Harrington returned to Detroit today for the first time since being traded earlier this year. During his 4 years with Detroit, Joey went from the saviour of the franchise to the scapegoat of the team’s problems. The best example of this was after last year’s Thanksgiving game when Steve Mariucci was fired after an embarassing loss to the Falcons. Dre Bly came out in the media and called out Harrington, accusing him of being the reason that Mariucci lost his job. Well, today Joey earned his retribution against his former team.

Joey’s reaction after throwing his first of three TDs

In what was the most important game of his 5 year career, Joey led the Miami Dolphins to a 27-10 victory, lighting the Lions up for 3 TD passes. In the beginning, it was like Joey had never left Detroit as he came out on to the field to a chorus of boos from the crowd. However, the boos were quickly silenced due to Harrington’s fantastic play. The joy on Joey’s face as it became clear that the Dolphins were going to get the victory was fantastic. What was even better was the the possibility that people in Detroit will actually start to see that it wasn’t Joey that was the problem with the team. He proved today that with an adequate team around him, he could have led the Lions to victories. He was never given that chance.

This may be the only hardware he wins during his pro career, but all things considered I know he’ll take it!

Rank Team Record
1 (8-2)   3

Ladies and Gentleman, this years NFL MVP - LT!

2 (9-1)

Almost half of Grossman’s passing yards came on his 57 TD pass. The Bears have a great defence, but they are vunerable when their offence isn’t clicking.

3 (9-1)   2

They have been holding on to an unbeaten record by the skin of their teeth. The Dallas 3-4 defence troubled Manning all day and the Colts fell to their first defeat of the season.

4 (8-2)   1

I don’t know what it is, but even though the Ravens are having a great regular season I just don’t think they will be a major force come playoff time.

5 (7-3)   1

4 TDs, 244 passing yards and 27 fantasy points. Thank you Tom Brady.

6 (7-3)   3

Tough loss for the Broncos. Unfortunate for Jake Plummer too. Critics are already calling for his despite his team being 7-3.

7 (6-4)   5

Won against the previously undefeated Colts. However, the INT return for a TD should have been called back. Cowboys were lucky in this one, but a win is a win.

8 (6-4)   3

Steve Smith literally left everything at the stadium. Don’t look now, but the Panthers are now in first place in their division.

9 (5-5)   6

2 games and 450 receiving yards for Chad Johnson and all of a sudden an average year has gone to an incredible year as he is now the leading receiver in the league. If it continues, the Bengals will be a threat.

10 (6-4)   7

I don’t know how I would cope with being a fan of the Jags. Without two unexplainable losses to the Texans, this team would be 8-2. They are just so unpredicta ble it’s hard to know which team will show up each week.

11 (6-4)   4

Ugly ugly loss against the 49ers. The Seahawks just couldn’t get it going all day. Hopefully with Matt Hasselbeck back, they will recapture their form of last year.

12 (6-4)   4

What exactly has Eli Manning done this year? 2200 yards with 16 TDs and 13 INTs. If you could have Eli or Philip Rivers right now, who would you pick?

13 (6-4)   4

Will Reggie Bush please run towards the endzone and not the sideline? Drew Brees, despite over 500 yards, cannot do this by himself.

14 (6-4)

Trent Green 9/16 for 102 yards with no TDs. Hardly inspiring.

15 (5-5)   2

Nice performance against the tough Bears. As it stands now, the Jets are only a game out of a wildcard spot.

16 (5-5)   4

If Seattle continues to struggle, the 49ers may find themselves winning a playoff spot and being embarrassed.

17 (4-6)   4

In all honesty, the Steelers should not have won this game. But everyone should look on the bright side, that couple on the eHarmony commercial can now be happy that this is a real rivalry again. It helps that both teams suck.

18 (4-6)   4

Nice game for Lee Evans. Two 83 yards TD receptions in one game and the Bills get the victory!

19 (4-6)   4

I’m a big fan of Joey Harrington and I’ll be watching tomorrow hoping that Joey throws for 500 yards and 5 TDs and leads the Dolphins to victory against the Lions. Then the Detroit fans will really have a reason to boo and Dre Bly can shut his fat mouth.

20 (5-5)   2

If the Falcons lose against the Saints this weekend, their playoff hopes are all but over.

21 (5-5)   5

No points against the Panthers, but they should get on the board against the 49ers.

22 (5-5)   12

McNabb is done for the season, so are the Eagles chances for the playoffs. Jeff Garcia will not get it done for the Eagles.

23 (4-6)   4

Shutout at Lambeau. Favre taken off the field. Not a good day for the Pack.

24 (3-7)   4

Titans win another game. It’s going to be a while before Vince Young is a legitimate threat - he still doesn’t look comfortable.

25 (3-7)   4

If one thing was confirmed in this match it was this: the Bucs are better than the Redskins.

26 (4-6)   2

After a really strong start, the Vikings just haven’t been able to keep the momentum going forward.

27 (3-7)   2

This is another team that has the ability to be good, but they just can’t seem to get it together. I don’t know what the missing piece is, but they will be dangerous once they have it.

28 (3-7)   2

This should have been a game that the Browns won and they almost did. Pity Braylon Edwards couldn’t control that ball at the end of the match.

29 (3-7)   2

Will Joe Gibbs be back next year? No matter how much money this team pours into personnel, they can’t convert on the field. Who’ll cash in this offseason?

30 (2-8)   1

Three years ago Randy Moss was a must have for any fantasy owner. The two-time defending champion of our league just dropped him. THAT says a lot.

31 (2-8)   1

Dennis Green adds a win to his total before he is fired at the end of the year.

32 (2-8)   2

The Lions are awful. It will be fantastic to see Joey Harrington light them up tomorrow!

Rank Team Record
1 (9-0)

Another ugly win, but they’re the only team in history to have back-to-back 9-0 starts to the year.

2 (8-1)   1

After a few ordinary weeks, Rex Grossman was back to his early season form and the Bears looked a lot better.

3 (7-2)   1

Another team that had an ugly victory. Javon Walker should win comeback player of the year.

4 (7-2)   2

LT is the BEST player in the NFL. He’s also the best player in fantasy football and thankkfully he is on my team!

5 (7-2)   2

Were lucky to escape with a victory against Tennessee. Imagine if Steve McNair had lost on his return to Nashville - at the hands of his replacement.

6 (6-3)   4

Ouch. I bet Belichick isn’t a happy man, losing to his former understudy. Oh and I realised why I’m hesistant to play Tom Brady on my fantasy team. The weeks he sits on my bench he’s a superstar and the weeks I play him, he stinks.

7 (6-3)   3

The Seahawks are looking very good, especially now that their two guns are returning to the line-up.

8 (6-3)   3

I really thought the Giants were going to get the better of the Bears on Sunday night. However, they’re not ready to contend - especially without all their big names.

9 (6-3)   1

Would have won, if not for Willie Parker. Good to see Reggie get his first TD from scrimmage. The sooner he learns to run forward instead of side to side, the better he will be.

10 (5-4)   4

Nice defensive performance, including 2 TDs, keeps the Eagles playoffs hopes alive.

11 (5-4)   4

As long as Steve Smith stays healthy, this team will be a headache for any opponent.

12 (5-4)   4

Romo has looked better than Bledsoe did, but even if they were to make the playoffs they wouldn’t go very far.

13 (5-4)   5

Very nice win for Mangini and his team of overachievers. I bet Mangini is a bundle of excitement for showing the former boss what he is made of.

14 (5-4)   5

Not the best week for Damon Huard to have a poor game. Losing to the Dolphins will make it a lot easier for Herm Edwards to place Trent Green back in the lineup.

15 (4-5)   2

It just isn’t going to be the Bengals year. Take a 21 point lead only to lose 49-41 against the Chargers.

16 (4-5)   1

Another heartbreaking loss to the Seahawks at the foot of Josh Brown.

17 (5-4)   6

A week ago they won 37-7, but this week they lose 10-13 against Houston. They have a better record than the two teams above them, but their inconsistency costs them.

18 (5-4)   6

Back to back losses to Detroit and Cleveland - not exactly the cream of the NFL crop.

19 (4-5)   3

The way he’s been playing, everyone will be wanting Brett Favre to return for another year.

20 (4-5)   3

Frank Gore was an absolute stud in this game, leading the 49ers to a victory against the Lions who I really thought would win.

21 (3-6)   10

When they play well, they are still dangerous. It’s just a matter of if they play well or not.

22 (3-6)   1

Really pressured the Colts all day. A good effort for a team that has struggled for the majority of the season.

23 (3-6)   3

Playing some good football despite the shaky hand of Joey Harrington under centre.

24 (4-5)   4

Started the season extremely well, but every week that goes by the Vikings looks less impressive.

25 (3-6)   3

Nice performance against a disappointing Jags team.

26 (3-6)   3

Braylon Edwards has recently been showing why he was a top draft pick.

27 (3-6)   8

The rebuilding begins. Byebye Mark Brunell

28 (2-7)   3

Almost pulled off what would have been an incredible victory against their former star quarterback.

29 (2-7)   5

The Bucs looked good until Gradkowski started losing control of the ball.

30 (2-7)   3

Great performance against the Falcons, but then they lose at home to the 49ers. Their big 3 all had lost fumbles too - no surprise they lost.

31 (2-7)   2

I think Andrew Walter forgot his place on the totem pole and now he’ll be riding the bench again - where he belongs.

32 (1-8)

Another lost season. I wonder who they’ll get with the #1 pick next year?

Week 9 Power Rankings

Saturday, November 11th, 2006
Rank Team Record
1 (8-0)

Survived the Patriots due to bad play calling by the Patriots. Why did they air it out when they could have ran the ball all over the Colts defence?

2 (6-2)   1

Brady evened things out. 4 TDs one week - 4 INTs the next. Thankfully it didn’t cost my fantasy team a victory!

3 (7-1)   2

Honestly, the Bears should be in the #2 spot, but they lost to the Dolphins and therefore I cannot put them higher than #3.

4 (6-2)

What a performance by Javon Walker. Over 200 total yards and 3 TDs.

5 (6-2)

Won a close one against the Texans in the horrible New York conditions.

6 (6-2)

LT has 15 total TDs for the year. I’m so glad I got LT on my fantasy team.

7 (6-2)

The Ravens are greatly improved from last year, but I just don’t think they are going to make waves come playoff time.

8 (6-2)   2

Halfway through the season and the Saints are a real shot to make the playoffs. Who would have predicted that at the start of the season?

9 (5-3)   3

QB controversy brewing. It’s now Damon Huard’s job to lose in my opinion. Trent Green must be experiencing some deja vu.

10 (5-3)   3

The Seahawks move up in the power rankings, but that is more in part to the poor performances of others teams during Week 8. They’ll be in good shape once their big guns are back in the line-up.

11 (5-3)   4

This team is so hit and miss. Hit on the weeks they play at home and miss when they play away games.

12 (5-3)   4

Ouch. Lose to the Lions and you will fall in the power rankings. So much for Vick’s good form.

13 (4-4)   4

The Bengals may be in serious trouble of missing the playoffs this year. I didn’t think they would be .500 at the midway point of the season.

14 (4-4)

Stay put after the bye week. Interesting matchup against the Redskins this week.

15 (4-4)   2

Move in to the top 15 due to other teams falling. Will appear against the Bucs in what should be a snoozer of a MNF game.

16 (4-4)   5

What an incredible finish. Vanderjagt should not be blamed for the kick at the end of the game, but T.O. should be ridiculed for that dropped pass.

17 (4-4)   1

The Rams were a solid team, but they are gradually dropping as each week passes.

18 (4-4)   1

Another team that benefitted from other teams performing poorly.

19 (3-5)   2

What a kick under pressure. I thought for sure that kick was going wide, but it magically curled back at the end to sneak between the uprights.

20 (4-4)   2

They really should have beaten the 49ers. Disappointing loss in a game where no TDs were scored.

21 (3-5)   4

Bills got a win over the Packers, but so far this year Willis McGahee has only 1 TD on 154 attempts - not very productive.

22 (3-5)   2

Ahman Green continues to be productive. If everything falls in place for the Pack, maybe Favre’s year won’t be all that bad.

23 (3-5)   4

Ugly game against the Vikings, but a win is a win.

24 (2-6)   2

The Bucs lost, but the highlight of this game for me was the fantasy preview that Jaws gave on ESPN prior to the game. Sit Joey Galloway because he will not be productive. 2 TDs later and Jaws looks like a fool again.

25 (2-6)   2

What a spanking!

26 (2-6)   6

Upset of the year without a doubt. How the Dolphins pulled this off I will never know!

27 (2-6)   3

If Kevin Jones and Roy Williams can have games like this every week, the Lions will be competitive every week.

28 (2-6)   4

Battled tough against the Giants, but they get no love in the power rankings.

29 (2-6)   3

Good performance against the Chargers, but once again no love to be shown here.

30 (2-6)   2

Shutout in Seattle. I’m just glad Randy Moss didn’t get a TD. That would have made my fantasy matchup too close for comfort.

31 (2-6)   2

Hard to believe that earlier this year they were hoisting up the Lombardi trophy.

32 (1-7)   1

Dolphins win and the Cardinals now have the honor as worst in the league.

Week 8 Power Rankings

Friday, November 10th, 2006

Apologies for not getting this out in time. Week 9 Power Rankings will be posted by Sunday.

Rank Team Record
1 (7-0)

Embarrassed the 49ers. The game was over at the end of the first quarter. Imagine what the score could have been if the Bears didn’t stroll through the second half.

2 (7-0)

Very impressive win against the Broncos. The match-up between Marvin Harrison and Champ Bailey pretty much cost me my fantasy game this weekend. I had Marvin Harrison, my opponent had Reggie Wayne.

3 (6-1)

Tom Brady we do I doubt thee? While I played Philip Rivers, you sat on my bench. Never again.

4 (5-2)

I refused to move the Broncos down in the power rankings. It was a great match against the Colts, but they just couldn’t contain Peyton Manning.

5 (5-2)   1

4 weeks ago the Giants were #20 in my power rankings. Now they are at #5 and look like they have settled out their early inconsistencies.

6 (5-2)   2

Another huge performance from LT, who after Peyton Manning, has to be the best offensive threat in the NFL.

7 (5-2)   5

Add another 2 defensive TDs to the tally. The D’s performance certainly didn’t help my fantasy prospects.

8 (5-2)   1

Who is this QB and what have they done with Michael Vick? 7 passing TDs in two weeks, very nice.

9 (4-3)   2

Ocho Cinco got 1 of the 2 TDs he promised, but the Bengals still lost.

10 (5-2)   5

8 weeks and still no TD from scrimmage for Reggie Bush. He still proves to be a horrible match-up for teams, but the lack of production is already resulting in people calling him a bust.

11 (4-3)   2

Could Romo be the saviour after all? At least T.O. will be happy while he is getting his, but just wait for Romo to do something wrong.

12 (4-3)   5

Damon Huard has been solid for the Chiefs with 8 TDs and just 1 INT. Let’s see what Trent Green can do when he returns, but he will definitely be under a microscope. Did I mention my fantasy opponent had Larry Johnson and his 4 TDs.

13 (4-3)   3

The Seahawks almost had an unlikely victory without their two star players. They are going to continue to struggle until they both return.

14 (4-4)   3

3 losses in a row for the Eagles. Also, no TDs against Jacksonville. What’s going on?

15 (4-3)   7

Held the Eagles to 2 field goals. Very impressive win.

16 (4-3)   2

The Rams continue to fly under the radar, but if the Seahawks continue to have injury problems, the Rams could get the playoff spot in the NFC west.

17 (4-4)   2

Took a 14 point lead against the Cowboys, but then folded the rest of the game and lost. Disappointing effort.

18 (4-3)   2

Utterly dominated by the Patriots. Should rebound against the hapless 49es this weekend.

19 (4-4)   1

Really surprising loss to the Browns. The Jets had been a real surprise so far this year, but this was an awful loss by a team who has overachieved this year.

20 (3-4)   4

The return of Ahman Green. 2 TDs and over 100 rushing yards.

21 (2-5)   4

Shoot up 4 places in the rankings thank to some bad performances by other teams.

22 (2-5)   2

Managed 3 points against the Giants. Face an interesting match-up against the Saints this weekend.

23 (2-5)   4

Look at the Titans go! Vince Young with one passing TD and one rushing TD.

24 (2-5)   3

One week after a great performance, they were awful against a team they should have beaten. David Carr was benched during this game too.

25 (2-5)   1

Another team that moved up in the rankings following poor performances by other teams.

26 (2-5)   4

Nice win for the Browns against a team that really should have beaten them.

27 (2-5)   4

What a massacre. The 49ers were like a high school team against the Bears.

28 (2-5)   3

No offensive TDs and they still beat the defending Superbowl champs and effectively end their season.

29 (2-5)   10

Say goodbye to any chance of defending the championship. Losing to the Raiders? Disgraceful.

30 (1-6)   1

The only team from the bye week to drop in the rankings. That’s how bad they are.

31 (1-7)   3

The only reason that Dennis Green is still at the helm is because the owner is too tight to release him - he has lost this team.

32 (1-6)

If the Bears destroyed the 49ers, imagine what they will do to the Dolphins this weekend.

Week 7 Power Rankings

Saturday, October 28th, 2006
Rank Team Record
1 (6-0)

Stay in the top spot and should be able to beat the 49ers this weekend.

2 (6-0)

Peyton Manning has finally woken up this year, throwing 4 TDs against the Redskins including two to Marvin Harrison – one of my fantasy WRs!

3 (5-1)

Demolished the Bills, even without a running game.

4 (5-1)   1

Did enough to beat the Browns, but it wasn’t convincing.

5 (5-1)   2

Move up 2 spots thanks to some losses from teams that were ranked higher.

6 (4-2)   6

I said it before, but this team is incredibly unpredictable. Great victory against the Cowboys on Monday night.

7 (4-2)   8

Gutsy performance against the smoking hot Panthers. Carson Palmer was very efficient and Chad Johnson has been very professional considering he has not been getting many TD grabs this year.

8 (4-2)   2

The Chargers fell behind 20-3 and didn’t score a TD until the 3 rd quarter and almost forced overtime. Nice comeback.

9 (4-2)   7

Michael Vick didn’t rush for 100 yards, but threw 4 TDs instead and led the Falcons to victory.

10 (4-2)   6

With Shaun Alexander and Matt Hasselbeck, this team is one of the top 5 in the league. Without them, they are going to really struggle.

11 (4-3)   3

Eagles thought they had their game against the Bucs wrapped after they scored a TD with 33 seconds remaining in the match. They would have too, if not for a miracle 62 yard field goal.

12 (4-2)   1

Will be hoping that the bye week will stop their losing skid.

13 (4-3)   4

This team cannot escape controversy. If it isn’t T.O., it’s the QBs. Bledsoe is bad, but Romo isn’t much better.

14 (4-2)

Will be a very interesting match-up against the Chargers. Having the extra week of rest may work against them.

15 (4-3)   5

Steve Smith caught for over 100 yards, but it wasn’t enough to lead to the Panthers to victory.

16 (4-2)   2

Minnesota isn’t getting much love from me. Sure they beat the Seahawks in Seattle, but that isn’t so impressive when you consider that the Seahawks were missing their two biggest offensive threats.

17 (3-3)   5

When Larry Johnson plays like he played against the Chargers, the Chiefs are going to be a threat to any team.

18 (4-3)   2

Already exceed their win total from last year. I really thought that by this time in the season that Chad Pennington would not be starting – he’s proved me wrong.

19 (2-4)   2

Things are going to have to turn around real fast for the defending champs. This week should be a gimme against Oakland.

20 (2-4)   7

Two straight wins for the Bucs. I don’t think they’ll be able to top the finish to their game against the Eagles though.

21 (2-4)   8

Impressive victory against the Jaguars. Andre Johnson is leading the league in receiving yards. Glad he is on my fantasy team!

22 (3-3)   9

What has happened to Jacksonville? 4 weeks ago everyone, including me, was talking about how impressive they had been playing. Now they look ordinary.

23 (2-4)

Hope they enjoyed the bye week. They won’t enjoy playing the Bears tomorrow.

24 (2-4)   1

Outlasted Miami and avoided being called the worst team in the league.

25 (2-5)   4

Where to begin with the Redskins? Playoff team last year and awful this year.

26 (2-5)   2

Another team that had a solid start to the season. Haven’t been able to maintain the intensity and are starting to look bad.

27 (1-5)   1

Play against the Texans, in what should be a very interesting match.

28 (1-6)   9

A great opportunity for the Cardinals to get back on track wasted. A team that should have beaten the best team in the league, follows it up with a loss to the worst team in the league.

29 (1-6)   1

Does anyone think the Lions will make the playoffs in the next 10-15 years? Every year seems to be a rebuilding one.

30 (1-5)   3

Working their way to another top 3 pick in next years draft.

31 (1-5)   1

Their victory left a lot of people upset. The Raiders were a real shot of being the first team to go 0-16.

32 (1-6)   1

Joey Harrington throws for over 400 yards, but until he can eliminate silly mistakes from his game he will continue to be a laughing stock in the league. A lot of his INTs have been unlucky, but too many have been avoidable.

Bye week:

Week 6 Power Rankings

Saturday, October 21st, 2006
Rank Team Record
1 (6-0)

The Bears can thank Dennis Green for the victory who continually ran the ineffective Edgerrin James at the end of the game. Brian Urlacher reinforced his status as one of the leagues elite defensive players.

2 (5-0)

Stay in #2 because they are one of two undefeated teams.

3 (4-1)   1

Move up a spot thanks to the Eagles losing to the Saints.

4 (4-1)   1

Matt Hasselbeck rebounded nicely against the Rams following his disappointing performance against the Bears. His 3 TD passes also helped my fantasy team.

5 (4-1)   1

Not an overly convincing win against the leagues worst team. That being said, the Colts have been unconvincing and they’re still in #2.

6 (4-1)   2

Talk about helping my fantasy team. I don’t know how LT ever fell to me with the #3 pick, but I was more than thankful for it. His 4 TD’s against the 49ers made me extremely happy!

7 (5-1)   3

It’s time to take the Saints seriously. Drew Brees is shining in New Orleans and the attention that Reggie Bush gets from defenders continues to open things up for Joe Horn and Duece McAllister.

8 (4-2)   5

I didn’t expect the Eagles to lose to the Saints, especially after defeating the Cowboys a week before. Although they drop 5 places, they are still a top 10 team.

9 (4-2)   4

I hate it when T.O. is right. Bledsoe put some trust in him and T.O. produced the results.

10 (4-2)   6

How important is Steve Smith to this team? Without him the Panthers are awful.

11 (4-2)   4

Perfect timing for the bye week, especially after 2 straight losses.

12 (3-2)   3

The Giants continue to baffle me. If they ever get it together consistently they will be a great team.

13 (3-2)   1

Should be ready for Houston after coming off the bye week.

14 (4-2)

I said I’d put the Rams in the top 10 if they won. They were impressive in their close loss to the Seahawks, so I decided to keep them in the same spot.

15 (3-2)   6

What happened to the Bengals? Losing to Tampa Bay and now they face the hot Panthers. They can easily be 3-3 after this weekend.

16 (3-2)   4

When Michael Vick is great, so are the Falcons. When he is contained, so are the Falcons. No surprises there.

17 (2-3)   2

Very impressive against the Chiefs, but until they can play this way against the top teams they will fail to convince me.

18 (3-2)   1

Will have a tough task against the Seahawks this weekend.

19 (1-5)   7

I’m sure many people will question my decision to elevate the Cardinals 7 places, but if not for some awful coaching decisions, the Cardinals would have pulled off the upset of the year. Matt Leinart is the real deal and the Cardinals will be great once they get an offensive line.

20 (2-4)   1

Barely managed to withstand the Dolphins – not a good sign.

21 (2-4)   3

Another team that I just can’t manage to comprehend. However, I’m pretty sure they won’t be making the playoffs.

22 (2-3)   2

After an impressive victory against the 49ers, they follow it up with an equally disappointing effort against the Steelers.

23 (2-4)

Totally outclassed by the Chargers, but there are signs of a bright future for this team.

24 (2-4)   2

Lost to the Lions. Ouch!

25 (1-4)

Coming off the bye week, they should be ready for the battle of the bad this week against Miami.

26 (1-5)   2

Vince Young and the Titans did incredibly well against the Redskins and they’ll have the winning feeling for two weeks thanks to the bye.

27 (1-4)   3

Impressive win against the Bengals. It will be even more impressive if they can beat the Eagles this weekend.

28 (1-5)   3

Roy Williams is a stud, but he still plays for the Lions. Let’s see if they can make it two straight against the Jets.

29 (1-5)   5

The Texans have cemented their status as one of the worst teams in the League. Where would this team be now if they had have drafted Reggie Bush instead?

30 (1-4)   3

The Browns will be 1-5 after they play Denver this weekend.

31 (1-5)   2

As soon as the Dolphins went to the no-huddle offence, they looked fantastic. Joey Harrington is a great 2-minute QB and the Dolphins should utilize the no-huddle offence earlier in the game to get the most out of the QB.

32 (0-5)

Another week, another loss.

Week 6 Game Predictions

Saturday, October 14th, 2006
 27 vs 20

Expect the Lions to have a lead late in the fourth quarter only to lose the game and fall to 0-6. Willis McGahee will score 2 TDs to help my fantasy team!

 21 vs 38

T.O. will be looking to have a big game after being disappointing last week against the Eagles. Look for Terry Glenn and Andre Johnson to get some receiving TDs and also help my fantasy team!

 13 vs 17

The Ravens were disappointing on Monday night and their defence will prevent the Panthers from getting on a roll.

 27 vs 31

This one could go either way, but I’m counting on the Giants to screw-up in some way and allow the Falcons to get the W.

 17 vs 34

After being embarrassed by the Giants last week, the Redskins will get back on track against the Titans.

 31 vs 17

The Bucs have lost a couple of close games this year. They will lose this one too, and it won’t be close.

 34 vs 23

A lot of experts are expecting the Rams to win this game because the Seahawks are without Shaun Alexander again. However, the Rams defence is not the same as the Bears and the Seahawks will win on the back of a huge game from Matt Hasslebeck.

 31 vs 20

The Eagles have been the most surprising team this year and will continue their good form against a Saints team that has overachieved to date.

 41 vs 17

The Chargers will have a field day against the 49ers. LT will have 2 rushing TDs and a passing TD too.

 17 vs 20

The Steelers will end their losing streak this week at home against the Chiefs. If they don’t, next week the media will be dominated about the decline of Ben Roethlisberger – unless of course T.O. overdoses again.

 24 vs 20

The Dolphins looked much improved with Joey Harrington as their QB and I think they will surprise the Jets this week, whose mental state may be questioned after last weeks thrashing.

 6 vs 24

The Raiders are the worst team in the league. The Broncos are not.

 31 vs 13

Matt Leinart is up against the best defence in the league this week. I like Leinart, but he’ll be punished this week.

Bye week:

Week 5 Power Rankings

Saturday, October 14th, 2006
Rank Team Record
1 (5-0)

When you talk about the best team in the league, it’s not even close. The Bears look incredible.

2 (5-0)

The Colts keep finding a way to win, but their 5-0 record is the only reason they’re #2.

3 (4-1)   1

Any doubt that the Eagles are better off without T.O. have been removed after their disposal of the Cowboys over the weekend.

4 (4-1)   3

The Patriots struggled against the Dolphins, but they always do. Did enough to win though.

5 (3-1)   1

Coming off a bye week, but will be without Shaun Alexander against the Rams.

6 (3-1)   15

Played superbly on Monday night to beat the previously undefeated Ravens. The biggest mover in this week’s rankings.

7 (4-1)   4

McNair suddenly looked average.

8 (3-1)   2

Did enough to get by the struggling Steelers. Philip Rivers is looking very steady.

9 (3-1)   1

Unfortunately drop a spot even though they had a bye.

10 (4-1)   2

Another close victory for the Saints, which included the first career TD of Reggie Bush.

11 (3-1)   2

Another case of dropping places even though they had a bye.

12 (3-2)   3

After a disappointing 2 weeks, the Jags responded with a 41 point whooping of the Jets.

13 (3-2)   8

I bet Jerry Jones is second-guessing his signing of T.O. The baggage that comes with T.O. is not worth the occasional moment of brilliance he presents.

14 (4-1)   5

The Rams are 4-1, but are #14 in the rankings. I don’t think they’ve played convincingly enough to be any higher. If they beat the Seahawks this weekend, you’ll see the Rams in the top 10 next week.

15 (2-2)   5

I really didn’t think the Giants would beat the Redskins, but they did and move up as a result.

16 (3-2)   2

The Panthers are slowly gaining the form that led them to be highly touted leading in to the season. I don’t think they have hit top gear yet, but I also don’t know if they will.

17 (3-2)

They got past the Lions, but that doesn’t mean much.

18 (2-3)   7

Skins take a tumble this week after their loss to the Giants. Should recover this week against the Redskins.

19 (1-3)   5

Just one victory so far for the defending Superbowl champs. Roethlisberger has struggled in every game and faces a tough Kansas City defence this weekend.

20 (2-2)   2

Larry Johnson may be missing following that horrible facemask, but their defence should keep them in the game against the Steelers.

21 (2-3)   8

The Jets have kept it close in all of their games, but lost the plot against the Jags to lose by 41.

22 (2-3)   5

Got dismantled by the Bears, but almost everyone has so far this season.

23 (2-3)   2

Won the battle of the Bay – an event that used to mean something.

24 (1-4)   1

Coming off a bye week to face their Texas rivals, the Cowboys.

25 (1-4)   1

Lost a close one to the Rams. I don’t think that the Packers will drop Brett Favre, but it would unfortunately be the best thing for this team.

26 (1-4)   1

This team was automatically improved with Matt Leinart as their QB – unfortunately they lost the game and WR Larry Fitzgerald to a hamstring injury.

27 (1-4)   1

The Browns keep losing, but that won’t bother Kellon Winslow Jr., who is getting his touches of the ball.

28 (0-5)   1

Almost pulled off the upset of the season against the Colts. Vince Young rushed for 43 yards and a TD, but only threw for 63 yards – Yikes!

29 (1-4)   1

The Dolphins started Joey Harrington and looked better for it. He threw 2 INTs (one unlucky), but looked very good. He will get them a victory against the Jets this weekend.

30 (0-4)

Lost a close one to the Saints, but will be 0-5 after they play the Bengals this weekend.

31 (0-5)

Harrington was unfairly run out of Detroit and was blamed for the Lions woes, but the Lions are 0-5 now and can’t blame Harrington anymore.

32 (0-4)

There is a good chance that this team will not win a game this year.
